ONEDOTZERO & DFUSE: RE-IMAGINING THE CITY

I'm workin with local artists and English artists on a collaboration project with The British Council (MY) & DFUSE (UK) on a project named 'Surface: Re-Imagining The City'. Onedotzero is a digital media movement that started in the late 90's by Shane Ward (who is also in KL). They are also part of the organizing comity of this project. They are very active in paving the shape of new digital media in the arts and in the commercial industry and are basically the godfathers of everything design, animation, web, film in the UK, Europe and the world. DFUSE, a British collective of designers, filmmakers and musicians are traveling around the world filming, editing and composing music for a live performance in each city. The DFUSE team is headed by Mike Faulkner, a very busy and impropitious man, started DFUSE 10 years ago and now heads DFUSE full-time, being active in an array of projects world-wide in commercial and non-commercial projects. Barney Steel, a designer, animator & editor also takes hold of DFUSE's discourse. He is an amazing after effects wizard. Mike Sharpe, a freelance after effects guru met Barney in a famous DVD authoring house in London. They often work together. Mathias Kispert is an awesome sound designer! His sublime tunes make the whole performance. DFUSE are outa this worldy cool guys. I bet they pull loads.
The local artists that came together were truly a gem in this city. Callen Tham, Terence Chong & Hoong AKA Altered Image are the fore-runners in the live VJ scene, performing for over 3 years in Malaysia and the region. Fariz Hanapiah is an after effects whiz from Motiofixo; they do all the cool videos in town. Fauzi Yusoff is also an editor, he is based in Cyberjaya. Ruben Blastique lived in Australia for 9 years, his music and mixes have graced the club and commercial scene for over 2 years now, he is smoooother than silk baby ;)
Meeting these great and talented people is truly the will of amazingness this crazy and beautiful world has to offer. Thanx to Sunitha Janamohanan & Patriana Patrick @ British Council Malaysia for this life-changing experience. This has been a god send. Peace. x
